University of Caspary

This school was founded by Arvin and Valanthe Michaels after the Ascension of Cerelia, the goddess of Justice. The school is actually dedicated to Cerelia and encompasses all areas of academia.

When originally founded, there was a school for Magic, school of Religion, and also a school for General studies. The original site of the school was about a days walk east of Corin's Pass, in an old castle that Val and Arvin had purchased with their own funds. The school struggled financially, but did manage to attract some of Iskitaan's finest students. In 1153, King Corwyn, looking to bring a sense of respectability to his new capital city decided to capitalize on the growing reputation of the school, Deercrest, convinced Val and Arvin to move the school there.

Construction began on the new Deercrest campus in 1158, and the first students began classes there in 1162. Val and Arvin could never bring themselves to close the original school, which became known as the Upper Valley Campus. Upon their deaths, the University regent's closed it, and it fell into disrepair and finally ruins. It is rumored that within the school exists a secret society that one can only gain admittance to through an invitation of an existing member. It is not quite clear what this group does, but they seem to be searching for some hidden treasure. The University staff and administrators officially disavow any knowledge of any such “Secret Society”.

Schools

The University consists of ten different schools on a sprawling campus in the Hightown district of Deercrest. Ten large dorm buildings house approximately 500 students and faculty.
