The High Kings of Iskitaan

In 1017, with the help of the Companions, the divine heir to of the Old Enshallen Kings, Andrell Morgonson claimed the throne of Iskitaan. Andrell did not seek to dominate the other kingdoms, but worked with them to promote peace and harmony amongst the nations.

With that in mind, he began calling himself High King, and did very little to disrupt the noble hierarchies that existed before nor established themselves later under his rule. He was more of a mediator than a ruler, always wanting disputes to be settled at the lowest levels possible. For the most part, his legacy passed down through his heirs.

The throne of the High King of Iskitaan is one of divine right, ordained by Rama himself. It always passes from the first son to the first son, though it has occasionally skipped a generation. Andrell's line has been unbroken since the Old Enshallen Kings. The first child of the High King is always a son, and only the first child is a son - any additional children have always been daughters.

The only case where a High King has had more than one son, is Banon Duncanson, who's son Frederick died in a hunting accident at the age of 18. A year later, a second son Colin was born, who went on to take the throne in 1741.
