The Tenani

The six tribes of the Tenani wander Iskitaan as merchants, entertainers and sometimes outlaws, in their caravans of colorful wagons. They travel from place to place, sometimes welcome, often not, transporting goods (and sometimes people), working odd jobs and setting up shows and fairs near (occasionally in) urban areas.

The Tenani have been wandering Iskitaan for well over a thousand years, they claim to be the decedents of Tenandryl. Each of the tribes consists of a dozen or two clans, who travel in pairs and triads just as often as they do alone. Every seven years, a tribe will gather all its clans together in a single place for a tribal council, and every twenty-one years all the tribes will gather.

The most famous of the tribes are the Destry, because of the famous bard Rafnielan.

They are a friendly people, on the surface at least, but reserved and slow to trust when making true friends. But once the Tenani call you friend, they will have your back. Should you later betray them, though, you will be labelled as a Josanite and becoma a hunted enemy of all Tenani.

They were among the first to recognize Andrell's assumption of the throne as [TheHighKings|High King, and while they did not fight for him in the Reunification Wars, they did act as messengers and spies.

The Tenani have their own pecular code of honor - they care more about doing the right thing as defined by their prophets than they do about obeying the laws of whatever realm they're in.
