Already at odds with [[Gavilan]] and [[Yarindal]], [[MaxwellStrasser|King Maxwell]] of [[Ericho]] begins to feel threatened by the nobility of House Legget, who are distant cousins of the Pantry family. Since the Pantry family was pivotal in the [[Galivan Takeover]] of [[Yarindal]], King Maxwell began to fear a similar situation in his own country. When more indirect actions like political maneuvering failed to work, Maxwell took a more direct approach, beginning by having several prominent members of the family assassinated, then later taking the rest of the family into custody, tried for treason and sentenced to death.
