The Briscone Affair

In 1801, King Radford II of Taran, ordered the leaders of the temples of Rama, Chala and Cerelia out of Taran, and appointed various members of the Briscone Family to their positions, claiming that as ruler of Taran and his divine right to rule, he had ultimate authority over the churches in his realm.

When all four leaders objected, they were arrested, as well as several of their supporters. When their superiors heard the news, envoys were dispatched to petition King Radford. Those envoys were met with derision, and at least one was jailed. Finally, the Order of the Dragon's Flame and several platoons of Cerelian Swords were sent to Taran and forcibly removed the Briscones from their temples, and eventually King Radford from power. He was found guilty of heresy, and executed.

Radford's son, Braxton, who was 2 at the time, was taken into the custody of the Order of the Dragon's Flame, and raised as a Knight of the Order, while the Order held his throne in regency during the Regency of the Order.
