Events of 26 Jun 1919
That evening the group gathers at the inn in Deercrest they chose as their meeting point. Juliet and Taloryn are outside, talking quietly, reading and sharing a letter.
They both look up as a small feminine figure pushes through the crowd towards them, calling out "Taloryn, Juliet, I'm glad I found you." It is young Alice, from the university. She holds out a couple of letters as she comes up to them. "Another packet was delivered to Amelia this afternoon," she says, "and I found this after you left." She hands a folded piece of paper with a broken seal to Taloryn.
The other letters are a packet tied together with a string, and addressed to Amelia Corvinus. Within the bundle are two letters, both sealed with a Corvinus seal - the first letter is addressed to Amelia, the second letter is addressed to Juliet.
Taloryn to Juliet
Juliet I wouldn't ask this unless I have good reason but I need to read the new letter Jacob has sent to you.
Juliet
Juliet makes a face at the Corvinus seal on her letter. As she reads it she begins pacing back and forth in front of the inn. Even before Taloryn speaks Juliet is visibly agitated. While Juliet is pacing around reading her letter, a gust of wind catches it and rips it from her hand - it goes fluttering down the street.
Taloryn
Taloryn would try and catch the letter.
Juliet
Juliet curses as the letter leaves her hands. Juliet would also try to catch the letter.
The three ladies all grab for the letter, but it floats out of reach, fluttering into the urine and shit filled street. Taloryn is closest to it, but young Alice stumbles into her way in her attempt to be helpful. Finally Taloryn manages to grab it, but not before it is stained and soiled by the excrement in the street.

Juliet
Juliet sighs in relief as Taloryn saves the letter. "Good save, Taloryn." Juliet eyes the letter over Taloryn's shoulder. "I can't believe Jacob. He thinks this quest is a fool's errand. And that we should just give it up for something more secure and tangible."
After a thoughtful moment, "Your brother would not be the type to have this letter written falsely would he?"
Taloryn
"Though my brother seems very capable of just about anything these days, given the amount of lies he has obviously fed to Jacob, I think it is more a matter of Jacob believing these lies. Juliet this might be hard for you to hear but I think Jacob wants to try and convince you that our quest is not real so that you will be more likely to help bring me home, so that Jacob can collect the reward that my brother is offering. Why don't we go back inside to our group and find a somewhat private place and I will tell you the real story of who I am. You can decide for yourself if you want to believe the lies that Jacob is being told or what I have to say."
"Alice thank you so much for delivering these messages, but our group has some private matters to attend to. It might be in your best interest that if the things that I have told you remain between us and that Amelia Corvinus remain the girl who was your roomate that took off suddenly."
Juliet
Gesturing to the door. "Lead the way."
"I am most offended by the idea of him trying to talk me out of the quest. Something or someone chose us. I don't think it was random."
Taloryn
Taloryn would start to make her way to the door.
"It could be worse you could have found out in a letter that your brother arranged a marriage for you without even asking you."
Out of Character Notes
GM: Right now the ACLs are set for everyone to read, but only Laura & Val to participate. Use the comments to join the conversation, and I'll update ACLs according to who's there. For the letters, I'll update the ACLs to whomever they're passed to, right now each letter is only viewable by the person who has possession of it and/or who it's addressed to.Val: I am assuming we continue to stand outside while we read these letters. Yes
Val: OOC to Taloyrn: Waiting on a response from Chris before I complete this. Timing is important, I am assuming it takes longer for you to read both of your letters and request to see Juliet's than it does for Juliet to read her one letter. I was only given one letter to read. Actually I just saw the second letter but it was super short.
GM: While Juliet is pacing around reading her letter, a gust of wind catches it and rips it from her hand - it goes fluttering down the street. make me an Agility roll. Juliet: Roll: 95
GM: I need agility rolls from both of you.
Juliet: Roll: 44
Taloryn: Roll: 31
